Day after the election

It's the day after the election and nothing has changed, except for the fact that i'm a bit tired from staying up to watch nothing happen. The "alternative" election night on channel 4 wasn't as funny as the presenters thought it was, particularly Jimmy Carr who had far too much screentime when David Mitchell and Charlie Brooker were generally funnier. I did enjoy the Brian Cox bit though and the chat at the end.

Next topic, i would be going to see Four Lions tonight, but the cinemas around me can't get their act together to screen it. Doesn't really make sense considering that it's being advertised quite a lot on tv to only put it out on limited release. That aside i saw the Ghost the other night and didn't really rate it. It was very, very slow paced and then a rushed ending. The final shot was quite nice and arty though. On second check Four Lions is on at Sheffield so it could be a drive up there is in order. That second check also revealed some other films i quite want to see, Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans and Hot Tub Time Machine. Embarassingly enough i also quite like the look of date night, but that could be something to do with my 30 Rock obsession, and i really want to watch Cop Out as well but that isn't out yet.

Away from the topic of films now it's time to complain about people not emailing back. I tried to join the NUJ last month, but so far all they've done is taken my money and not given me a press card. So i sent them an angry email earlier. Looking forward to hearing back from that. And in a similiar vein i bought some new monitors for the studio i'm trying to set up at my uni room. They arrived very quickly for a bank holiday weekend, but when they did, damn Behringers, they didn't have a cable to connect them up. And i'm not sure about which cable i need, so i emailed Dolphin Music to ask which one i need and they haven't emailed me back, which is inconsiderate when i want to spend money at their shop.

Rant over. Lost was excellent but sad this week, sorry if that's spoiled any of it for you. And my favourite song of the week is either Living Next Door To Alice by Smokie/Roy Chubby Brown or Fight Test by The Flaming Lips which is an amazing almost over of Father/Son by Cat Stevens. That's about it from me.
